Writing a bestselling novel is a dream for many bookwriters. While there's no guaranteed formula to success, there are several tips and strategies you can take note of and employ to increase your chances of hitting the bestseller list. Here is my guide on how to write a book for beginners in 2024:

Book Writing Tips For Beginners

  • Don't Rush It: Take this process slowly and intentionally. Let ideas flow into you, don’t chase it.
    .
  • Choose A Plot You Like: Don’t pick a plot based on what’s trending or what you think others love. What you love matters more.

How to Write a For Beginners Book Part 1

STEP#1: Find Your IdeaWhat story are you burning to tell? Is it romance or fantasy? Do some brainstorming exercises to spark ideas and you can check out my ideas and see how you can be inspired and craft your own.

STEP#2Find Your Story TropeIs it Enemies-to-lovers, friends-to-lovers or workplace romance. Choose a trope that you like and see how you can work with it.

STEP#3Develop Your Plot ConceptWhat is the main conflict? Who are the characters? A plot concept in writing is the foundational idea that drives the story. It's the core conflict or situation that sets the stage for the entire narrative.

Example of a Plot Concept: A young girl (main character) discovers that she has possess magical powers (traits) and becomes the target of a powerful warlord (antagonist). ‘Discovers and Becomes’ highlights the flow of the concept

STEP#4: Pick a Sub-GenreThe genre you choose (fantasy, mystery, romance, etc.) will influence the nature of your conflict. A Sub-Genre makes the story setting more interesting. I personally love a good Mystery-Romance book.
